The General Electric(GE) plant in Hudson Falls. The company dumped more than one million pounds of PCBs into the Hudson River. When the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) proposed a project to dredge parts of the river, GE organized an advertising campaign that equated dredging with destruction and devastation. The company also funded studies that were altered to show that PCBs were not a health risk to animals and humans.
