  • 1456 - 25 years after Joan's death - her case was re-opened and Joan of Arc was pronounced innocent.
  • 1920 - Joan of Arc canonized (made a saint) by Pope Benedict XV of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Joan of Arc considered to be France's greatest national patriot.
