Barbara Jordan was a black woman who was very poor. She had to sleep on the fold-out so she wouldn’t sleep on the floor.

She went to high school to pass her grades, So she wouldn’t be the biggest one sittin’ around gettin’ played.

Although segregation was everywhere, It really didn’t matter ’cause Barbara Jordan didn’t care.

She was an African American leader, Who also was one of the best speakers.
